SENIOR CONSULTANT POSITION
The Senior Consultant position participates in all aspects of the company’s professional services. This includes active participation in site selection and economic development projects. The ideal candidate is capable of independently leading projects, evaluating and communicating large data sets, and leading project teams. In addition, Senior Consultants are expected to play a critical role in marketing, including managing social media, preparing proposals, and participating in conferences.
This position is expected to be fully remote. However, SDG is headquartered in Greenville, SC, and the Senior Consultant is expected to be in the Greenville office 3-4 days per month.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Senior Consultant’s responsibilities include RFP development, proposal reviews, site and community visits/assessments, infrastructure assessments, and project cost models. The Senior Consultant will be asked to develop an incentive RFP and participate actively in incentive negotiations. The Senior Consultant will also be actively involved in client deliverables and presentations. This position will likely require extensive travel.
QUALIFICATIONS
- A bachelor’s degree in business, economics, geography, engineering, or related field is required. A Master’s degree is preferred.
- Four years experience with a site selection or development firm, economic development agency, real estate company or other related business is preferred.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in office software products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required.
- Experience with geographic information systems software (ESRI GIS) is preferred.
CONSULTANT POSITION
The Consultant position participates in all aspects of the company’s professional services. This includes active participation in site selection and economic development projects. Specific tasks may include performing demographic and labor force research and analysis, reviewing sites, conducting tax and incentive research, and preparing client deliverables. In addition, Consultants will have some administrative responsibilities, primarily focused on marketing: helping to prepare proposals, qualification documents, and other sales and marketing activities.
SDG is headquartered in Greenville, SC, and the consultant is strongly preferred to be based in the Greenville office.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities include working with project teams on site selection projects and economic development assignments. The Consultant will be primarily responsible for community research, including site and infrastructure assessments, demographic data analysis, labor market evaluations, tax and incentive research, and preparing client deliverables. Responsibilities may also include information management and data analytics functions.
QUALIFICATIONS
- A bachelor’s degree in business, economics, geography, engineering, or related field is required.
- Two years experience with a site selection or development firm, economic development agency, real estate company or other related business is preferred. Relevant internship experience is acceptable.
- Proficiency in office software products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required.
